Last month, I wrote about data scientists dealing with data. Data scientists are scientists who can obtain, scrub, explore, model and interpret data, blending together several skills: hacking, statistics, mathematics, machine learning and expertise in the domain in which the data were generated.
I saw this infographic a few days ago over at Daily Infographic and thought it was pretty cool. The data scientists at Infographic World and Wikibon designed an infographic defining the role of a data scientist. It defines data science and a data scientist, outlines the required skills for a data scientist, and provides examples of the dangers of data science (i.e. how statistics can be misleading).
